Over 150 Foreign Athletes To Compete In Malta Athletics International Competition

The EAP Malta International returns for non stop athletics events where our Maltese stars will be competing against athletes from all around the world.“With over 150 foreign competitors and officials expected, the 2025 edition promises an electrifying atmosphere and high-calibre performances across the full range of track and field disciplines, and augurs well for this sixth edition of EAP Malta International toreach it’s highest ever Meeting Ranking in the World Athletics Listing,” wrote the Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon Club in a statement.This is the sixth edition of the competition and it will be held on 14th June at the Matthew Micallef St John Stadium, Marsa. The event is being organised by Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon Club, welcoming over 150 foreign competitors and officials.This World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger meet will feature a powerful mix of Olympic athletes, national champions and up-and-coming stars from 34 different countries from all over the world.“This year’s lineup is the most competitive we’ve ever hosted,” said the Event Director Norman Saliba. “We’re giving local fans a chance to witness world-class athletics right here in Malta.”Lots of Maltese athletes will be participating, including Thea Parnis Coleiro, Claire Azzopardi, Beppe Grillo, Luke Bezzina, Kurt Zahra, Mireya Bugeja, Janet Richard, Martha Spiteri, Nick Bonnet, Isaac Bonnici, Alessia Cristina and Rebecca Sare. According to the Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon Club, there will be 157 Maltese athletes in total, across the senior and youth categories.Saliba went on to say that “this is a fantastic opportunity for all local athletes to test their skills against such high level competitors without needing to travel.”The entrance is free for all spectators for the competition that is expected to run between 3pm and 8pm.Will you be going to watch?•
