(Express photo)Among the passengers in the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon was Ravjibhai Chovatiya (65), a retired professor of Junagadh Agricultural University. He had boarded the plane with his wife Shardaben Chovatiya (64). The couple, residents of Junagadh town and native of Una taluka in Gir Somnath district, were on their way to meet their son who lives in London. Ravjibhai worked as a professor in the horticulture department at Junagadh Agriculture University and retired three years ago.Talking to The Indian Express, Gujarat Natural Farming Science University Vice Chancellor CK Timbadia said, “Ravjibhai was a good friend of mine and he was a noble and humble person. We last spoke around a month ago. I told him to remain present as an expert committee member for recruitment of scientists at Gujarat Natural Farming Science University. The recruitment interview concluded 15 days ago.
