After US base in Iraq reportedly attacked by Iran, President Trump threatens massive retaliation against Iran if American forces hit – while pushing for deal between Israel and Iran.By David Rosenberg, World Israel NewsPresident Donald Trump urged Israel and Iran to reach an agreement ending the ongoing military conflict, while threatening a “full strength” reprisal against Iran should American forces in the Middle East come under fire from the Islamic republic. On Sunday, the Associated Press reported that three drones were launched towards an American military base in Ain al-Asad in the Anbar province of Iraq overnight.Pro-Iranian militias in Iraq have not claimed responsibility. There are no reports of casualties or damage at the Ain al-Asad base, and the drones are said to have been shot down before reaching their targets.Shortly after the apparent attack, Trump took to his Truth Social account to warn Iran not to engage American forces, threatening large scale retaliations should U.S. forces come under fire.Trump also distanced the U.S. from Israel’s attacks on the Islamist regime.“The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump wrote early Sunday morning. The president also suggested that the war between Israel and Iran could be ended with negotiations.“However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!”On Saturday, Trump spoke with his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin, regarding the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.Trump wrote that the conflict between Israel and Iran dominated the conversation, and emphasized that both leaders hope the war is brought to an end.“President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran, a country he knows very well,” Trump wrote.“We talked at length. Much less time was spent talking about Russia/Ukraine, but that will be for next week. He is doing the planned prisoner swaps – large numbers of prisoners are being exchanged, immediately, from both sides.”“The call lasted approximately 1 hour. He feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end.” The post Trump threatens ‘full strength’ retaliation if Iran attacks US forces appeared first on World Israel News.
