In Numbers1,321 MT of food distributed*USD 4.1 M cash-based transfers made*USD 156.3 M twelve-month (May 2025 – April 2026) net funding requirements, representing 52 % of the total of funding required884,940 people assisted* in April 2025*Preliminary numbersOperational Updates:In April, WFP supported a total of 884,944 people across operations including through the distribution of 169,571 hot meals, USD 4.1 million in cash-based transfers (CBT), and 1,321 MT of food commodities.Through its emergency programmes, WFP reached 332,251 people. Among them, 158,000 received USD 3.8 million in CBT and 125,130 people received 1,283 MT of food. WFP also distributed 169,571 hot meals to 49,121 people, including 14,604 internally displaced people (IDPs) in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince (80,838 hot meals). The remaining hot meals were distributed to 22,663 people as part of WFP’s response to support returnees from the Dominican Republic at two border crossing locations (Ouanaminthe and Belladere), IDPs from Mirebalais located in the Centre department and those in the Artibonite region.Through the school meal programme, WFP reached 486.844 children with 1,142 MT of food. Of those, 326,775 were assisted with 753 MT of locally produced food through the Home-Grown School Meal programme.As part of the cross-cutting nutrition activities embedded in emergency, resilience, and social protection initiatives, WFP partners screened 19, 054 children (9, 778 girls and 9,276 boys) for malnutrition. Of these, 3,325 girls and 354 boys were referred for Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) treatment, while 103 girls and 101 boys required Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) treatment. Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) efforts reached 20,462 people, including 11,889 women, 4,544 men and 4,029 pregnant and nursing women, promoting better nutrition practices. Additionally, 511 girls and 509 boys aged 6-23 months living in IDP sites of the metropolitan area received Lipid-based Nutrient Supplements (LNS) through the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP), while households with pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls (PBWG) and/or children aged 6-24 months old received cash transfers to prevent malnutrition.Furthermore, in support of the national social protection system, WFP continued to provide social cash transfers and complementary services in nutrition and financial inclusion to improve the resilience of vulnerable populations, in line with the objectives of the National Social Protection and Promotion Policy (PNPPS, for its acronym in French).
