State Bank of India has introduced several key changes to its selected SBI credit cards, which are set to take effect from Jul. 15. These changes include calculating the Minimum Amount Due (MAD), settling payment orders, and discontinuing complimentary aviation accident insurance.These modifications will be implemented in SBI Card Prime, SBI Card Pulse, SBI Card Miles Elite, SBI Card Miles Prime, and SBI Card Elite.Credit Card Usage Guidance: Why Rarely Using Your Card May Hurt Your Credit ScoreHere are the changes that will take place in SBI credit cards from July 15.Under the revised structure, the MAD will now include 100% of GST, 100% of EMI amounts, 100% of fees and charges, 100% of finance charges, any over-limit amount, along with 2% of the remaining outstanding balance.Additionally, the order of the repayment structure has also been restructured. From July 15, all payments will now be changed in this order: GST first, EMI next, charges, finance costs, balance transfer, retail expenses, and cash advance last. This implies that interest will continue to rise on the amount of the real spending and that your remaining payments will be altered if you have not paid any charges or interest.Other than this, SBI has also announced the discontinuation of complimentary air accident insurance coverage on several of its premium credit cards.The Rs 1 crore coverage currently available on the SBI Card Elite, SBI Card Miles Elite, and SBI Card Miles Prime will be withdrawn. Similarly, the Rs 50 lakh cover on the SBI Card Prime and SBI Card Pulse will also be discontinued from the same date.As of August 11, 2025, you will no longer be eligible for the free air accident insurance coverage of Rs 1 crore that comes with your KVB SBI Card ELITE, Allahabad Bank SBI Card ELITE, Central Bank of India SBI Card ELITE, UCO Bank SBI Card ELITE, PSB SBI Card ELITE and KVB SBI Signature Card.Similarly, no free air accident insurance coverage of Rs 50 lakh on your Federal Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, UCO Bank SBI Card PRIME, Central Bank of India SBI Card PRIME, OBC SBI VISA PLATINUM Card, KVB SBI Card PRIME, BOM SBI PLATINUM Credit Card, Karur Vysya Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, South Indian Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, PSB SBI Card PRIME, South Indian Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, Karnataka Bank SBI Card PRIME, City Union Bank SBI Card PRIME, Allahabad Bank SBI Card PRIME, Karnataka Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, and UBI SBI PLATINUM Credit Card from August 11.Credit Card Rule Changes from July 2025: SBI, HDFC, Kotak Revise Insurance, Fees And Terms.
