While the ride’s exact reopening date remains unconfirmed, this is most likely when guests can expect Matterhorn Bobsleds to return.Matterhorn Bobsleds opened on June 4, 1959, and is arguably one of the most iconic and famous attractions offered at a  Disney theme park. The coaster is full of fun and secrets and has served as a literal icon of Disneyland Park in the decades since it opened. The ride served as the basis for future roller coasters and attractions, including Walt Disney World’s Space Mountain.The last few years have been especially exciting for Disneyland. Disney’s original theme park resort has received numerous upgrades and enhancements over the last several years, including attractions like Minnie & Mickey’s Runaway Railway and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.Plenty more is in store for Disneyland. Earlier this year, Disneyland confirmed the closure of multiple locations and experiences, including Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue, a dark ride inspired by the classic Pixar film.Disneyland plans to build a new version of Pandora—The World of Avatar here, a project that has been met with both excitement and worry from fans. Featuring immersive locations and rides, Pandora has been an incredibly successful part of Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom in Florida. However, some are skeptical that a land like Pandora fits into Disneyland.Disney has certainly been able to integrate more “alien” worlds into its West Coast theme park, with the best example being Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
