Insecurity Insight and Dataminr Develop AI Model to Manage Conflict-Related DataInsecurity Insight, in collaboration with Dataminr, has developed an AI-driven solution to improve the detection and management of data related to aid delivery in conflict-affected areas. The model identifies incidents impacting local NGOs—particularly those unable to engage in formal coordination structures—helping ensure their challenges are not overlooked. This information enables agencies working with local partners to adopt more equitable risk-sharing strategies. One practical application of this data is through Protect Aid Workers, a rapid-response mechanism designed to support NGOs affected by conflict-related violence. The initiative provides direct financial assistance and legal aid to humanitarian staff who have experienced security incidents, face immediate threats, or are dealing with arrest or legal action due to their work. According to Wille, Protect Aid Workers uses data provided by Insecurity Insight’s AI model to identify affected individuals and organizations and to inform them about the support available. “I know Protect Aid Workers is extremely grateful for us continuously feeding them this information. Without it, it would be much more difficult to find out when a local NGO may be badly impacted, as well as to identify those that may not be aware an organization like Protect Aid Workers exists,” said Christina Wille, Insecurity Insight Director.
