SPSR Nellore police recovered around 1,000 stolen and lost mobile phones worth over ₹1 crore. Superintendent of Police (SP) G. Krishnakanth handed over the recovered mobile phones to their owners at Umesh Chandra Memorial Conference Hall in the city on Friday.“‘Mobile Hunt’ mobile app continues to perform well and is gaining public trust. So far, 3,900 mobile phones worth ₹4 crore have been handed over to the owners,” he said.Using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, 60 mobile phones, worth ₹6 lakh, have been returned to the owners, the SP said, advising the public not to buy second-hand or unbilled mobile phones.People who have lost their mobile phones should send a message with their number via WhatsApp to 9154305600 or report on the CEIR portal. Immediately, they will get a Google Form link, which should be filled and submitted to the police, he said.As soon as the mobile phone is traced, the CEIR portal will send an SMS to the nearest police station.
