Max Verstappen can often be blunt – but who cares when you can say everything you want in four words?Williams Academy driver Luke Browning would agree, insisting that the advice he got from the Dutchman has stuck in his head more than anything else.GettyVerstappen isn’t a man of many words – but he doesn’t need to be[/caption]A talented 23-year-old, Browning is making the grade in Formula 2 right now, impressing with Hitech TGR.He’s also on Williams’ books and this season participated in FP1 at the Bahrain Grand Prix.As a young driver, picking up advice along the way when rubbing shoulders with the best in the business is vital – and Browning hasn’t missed an opportunity.Asked what words of wisdom had cut through the most in his fledgling career, he responded: “Don’t think too much.“Max [Verstappen] said don’t think too much. He said let it come to you, mate. The talent is there. Just crack on.”And that’s exactly what Browning is doing. He’s currently fifth in the Formula 2 standings and would potentially be higher had he not suffered a dramatic DNF in the Austrian Grand Prix’s sprint race.He continued: “I think what’s fantastic about Max is the ability to watch every single piece of racing. Take every little bit of learning from it all and then apply it into his craft.”And British star Browning admits he’s trying to learn all he can from the drivers around him.He added: “I’ll take anything that they tell me and I’ll take my own spin on it and hopefully learn from it. I think watching these guys and seeing what they do is important.Browning is enjoying his experiences in Formula 1 thanks to advice from VerstappenGetty“I’ve been trying to learn from their mistakes. I guess watching the races and being involved now in the Formula 1 team back at the factory, doing race support. “I can see what our drivers are doing, where they’re good, where they’re struggling, how they make improvements, and that’s what’s fantastic.“The further you get up the ladder is just understanding how they get that good and how they stay there. It’s been really valuable.”First thing’s first, Browning is insisting he’s starting to increase his focus – even if that means decreasing the time he spends on some of his more unique talents. An aptitude for uni-cycling and a Rubik’s cube have helped him keep his mind active – but not for much longer it seems.“Formula 1 is starting to take up a bit more of my capacity now,” he admitted.Browning is performing well in Formula 2 this seasonGetty“I think it’s slowed down on the stuff to keep myself out of the boredom.“It’s been a lot of prep, to be honest, in and out of Formula 1 and Formula 2.“We’ve got 14 race weekends now and an F1 test to prep for so I’m getting more busy, and I mean I am enjoying it so it’s been good fun.”
