(File Photo)Bike-borne assailants on Friday night allegedly gunned down one of the key witnesses in the 2024 Najafgarh salon double murder case, the Delhi Police said.The deceased identified as Neeraj Tehlan, was with the two men who were shot dead inside the salon in South West Delhi on February 9, 2024 and was also a target for allegedly leaking information to the police about their gang.According to the police, Tehlan, allegedly a member of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang, was killed around 7.15 pm, when he was in his car near Dichaon petrol pump. He died on the spot.“Tehlan was previously involved in three cases of murder and extortion. Prima facie it has surfaced that the incident was an after-effect of the old enmity that Neeraj shared in his village and the area,” Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka, said.One of the shooters in the salon murders, Sanjeev Kumar, a henchman of the Gogi Gang and now in jail, is suspected to be behind the killing of Tehlan, a police officer said.“He suspected that Tehlan told the police about his involvement in the salon murder and shared his whereabouts as well. Sanjeev’s gang members also wanted to exact revenge on him,” the officer added.In the salon murder case, two men — Sonu and Ashish — were shot dead by two men at Najafgarh and purported CCTV footage of the incident had shown one of the victims pleading with the attackers before he was shot in the head at point-blank range.Story continues below this adThe other shooter, Chintu, was arrested in November 2024 from the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi.
