Shilo Sanders roasts brother Shedeur over speeding violations as Browns warned to ‘pump brakes’ on rookie QB

Wait 5 sec.

Shedeur Sanders’ name never appears to be too far away from the spotlight. The Cleveland Browns rookie came under fire for being caught driving 101 mph on a suburban interstate, some 41 mph over the 60 mph speed limit.Sanders has landed himself in hot water over his recent violationsGettyThis resulted in him being pulled over by an officer from Ohio’s Strongsville Police Department. Whilst Sanders acknowledged his wrongdoing and claimed he learned from the consequences of his actions, he deflected the blame away from his immaturity by stating that he was “just a little boy”. “I made some wrong choices, and I’ve got to own up to them.“You know, I’ve made some not great choices… I learned. I learned… I learned.”But Hall of Fame Defensive Back Deion Sanders’ other son, Shilo, who recently gifted his former Colorado Buffaloes teammates with Apple watches, made light of the situation that his brother found himself in.The 25-year-old rookie who was picked up as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was filmed outside and crossing a road in Tampa, where he roasted his brother.  “We got to be careful crossing the street, especially if Shedeur is out here.” Shedeur Sanders’ speeding ticket is his second in a span of mere weeks, having already been pulled over earlier on in June for driving 91 mph in a 65 mph zone in his Dodge TRX pickup truck.  Whilst this was met with some criticism from those around the league, with some, including Terry Pluto, calling for the Browns to ‘pump the brakes’ on their rookie QB, other athletes admitted to their own misdemeanours in light of Sanders’ second ticket just this month. Hall of Fame tight end, now broadcaster, Shannon Sharpe discussed on his podcast, Nightcap, with Chad Ochocinco Johnson and former NBA star Joe Johnson, how, during his playing years, he once received two speeding tickets in one night.Brother Shilo saw the funny side of Sanders’ misdemeanorX@NFL_DovKleimanSome have played down the offences while others claim they’re a red flagGettySanders has a QB battle on his hands in ClevelandGetty“In my third year, I got stopped going 108 (mph) in a 60, then stopped doing 92 mph. I got two tickets in 10 minutes, so speeding, I get it,” Sharpe said.“There’s something about speed and young people.“But you’ve got to realize, you’re Shedeur Sanders. You know what comes with that name, you know who your father is. Things you do will probably get scrutinized a lot more than another 23-year-old would.“Now, you’ve got two in a month, you’ve got to change that now.”Similarly, Johnson – who spent 18 years in the Association – recalled how he found himself in a similar situation when he was with the Atlanta Hawks, though he said he got off lightly because the officer who pulled him over recognised him. “I was playing here in Atlanta. Them Challengers had just come out,” Johnson said. “I had one, Jeff Teague had one, and Josh Smith had one. So we get back to Atlanta one night off the road, about 2 a.m. in the morning. We’re on 285, tan and rolled up. Man, I’m the only one who gets pulled over. We always over 100. I had a black police officer pull me over, and he knew who I was. He gave me some grace. I was very respectful.”NFL's Greatest......Ranking the top 10......Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and moreTight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?A projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders suffered a monstrous slide to the fifth-round, with the Browns opting to take him with the 144th overall pick, despite already having selected Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the previous round. Now, Sanders finds himself fourth on Cleveland’s depth chart, sitting behind veteran Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Gabriel. But there is still time before Week 1 for Sanders to climb up the depth chart, and that is exactly what he plans to do. NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah believes that the battle for the starting quarterback position will ultimately come down to one of Cleveland’s two rookies. As it stands at the moment, it could be argued that Flacco is in the strongest position heading into Week 1 to earn that starting spot, having already played in head coach Kevin Stefanski’s system before, where he led the Browns to the playoffs just two seasons ago. The 40-year-old has already said that he is there to lead by example on the field, and not as a mentor off the field to the young quarterback room.Furthermore, the tension inside that room appears to be building, with Gabriel’s subliminal post on his Instagram story where, in response to victory in the youth football camp, he said: “Winners win… all the time.”Whilst Gabriel and Sanders will certainly be battling it out for that coveted starting spot come Week 1, they both face stiff competition from two very capable quarterbacks who already have a plethora of on-field experience behind them. Nonetheless, this ongoing battle for the top job is certainly one to keep an eye on. Stay up to date with the latest from the NFL across all platforms – follow our NFL Facebook page, subscribe to our talkSPORT End Zone YouTube channel for all the offseason news, interviews and more
