In an Instagram post, Patel stated, “The horrific and sad air crash has claimed the life of former chief minister Vijay Rupani with whom I worked for five years as deputy CM, and 270 other citizens. Keeping this in mind I have decided there should be no major programmes on my birthday”.Letter ‘Bomb’A former state minister and senior BJP leader Nanubhai Vanani, from Surat, had on Friday written an open letter raising objections to the party’s working style and new strategies. The seven-page letter, shared on his social media platform, compared the party’s culture to the Congress warning that it would “backfire”. Vanani was a cabinet minister in the then chief Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Asked about the letter, Vanani said, “Yes, it is written by me. The entire culture of the party has changed, and if it continues, it will backfire on the party in Gujarat.
