A 66-year-old Disney Park icon got a rainbow makeover during the Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite events this month. For the third year in a row, this family-friendly LGBTQIA+ celebration took over Disneyland Park on June 16 and 18, 2025.Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite first welcomed guests in 2023, 25 years after the first-ever unofficial “Gay Days” event at the Anaheim Disney parks. “Gay Days” started as an LGBTQIA+ meetup at Walt Disney World Resort in the early 1990s, and eventually made its way to Disneyland Resort in 1998. To this day, thousands of LGBTQIA+ Disney Parks fans and allies meet in Central Florida and Southern California each year, donning bright red shirts and celebrating inclusion with their families.Credit: DisneyPride Nite was the first officially sanctioned LGBTQIA+ event at the United States Disney parks. After years of selling rainbow merchandise and snack items throughout June, Disneyland Park announced a hard-ticketed, family-friendly event with Pride-themed entertainment, photo ops, character meet-and-greets, and more. Like other Disneyland After Dark events, Pride Nite also promises shorter attraction wait times and exclusive access to Disneyland Park after it closes.Credit: DisneyNow that the Pride Nite events have concluded for 2025, Disney Park guests are sharing their experiences on social media.
