Jamie Donley’s expected first-team involvement under Thomas Frank could open the door for several Tottenham Hotspur youngsters, and we have highlighted five more who deserve their own chance to shine under the new head coach. It was reported on Monday that Jamie Donley is expected to have a chance to feature in Tottenham’s first-team squad this season, after his impressive campaign in League One.The 20-year-old scored ten goals and assisted eight in 39 league appearances last season, and even helped lead Leyton Orient to a final play-off at Wembley, although they ultimately lost to Charlton Athletic.Donley wants to fight for a place in the Tottenham first team, could very much be handed that opportunity under new manager Thomas Frank, who is expected to allow the youngster to stake his claim in pre-season.However, Jamie Donley is not the only Spurs starlet looking to burst onto the scene, and we have now highlighted five other youngsters who could claim a first-team spot.(Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / Instagram)Mikey Moore could earn more minutes for TottenhamMikey Moore has already had first-team experience, thanks to Postecoglou having handed him 19 appearances last season with the Spurs senior squad. The teenager is also Tottenham’s youngest ever player to play in the Premier League and has earned a contract extension, while talks about a new contract for Moore are also doing the rounds. For sure, if one were to guess the player who is most likely to enjoy more regular minutes with the Tottenham first team, it is Mikey Moore. However, the youngster who has been compared to Neymar by James Maddison would also have to impress in pre-season, but first, he would have to recover in time from his injury with England U-19s.Will Lankshear could be Spurs backup to Dominic SolankeWill Lankshear, just like Moore, had a taste of first-team football with Tottenham last campaign, and even scored his debut goal for the club in their Europa League clash against Galatasaray, before being sent off.The youngster, however, was loaned to Championship side West Bromwich Albion, where he never really hit the ground running, scoring no goals in eleven Championship games, although Lankshear did show flashes of his talent, glimpses that West Brom fans were quick to praise. With a few senior team appearances under his belt, the young forward could also stake his claim for a spot at Tottenham during this pre-season. Of course, the 20-year-old forward’s chances could increase further if Richarlison depart Tottenham ; Lankshear could well be Solanke’s backup option.Ashley Phillips offers Tottenham defensive depthPhillips has one quality that could help him get into the Spurs first-team squad this season, and that is his experience of senior football in England. The 20-year-old centre-back got this much-needed experience last season on loan at Championship side Stoke City.Phillips did have a mixed season last campaign, as he impressed, being an ever-present in the Potters’ backline, after featuring 35 times in the league; however, a few of his performances left a lot to be desired. Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Kota Takai from J1 League side Kawasaki Frontale and it will be interesting to see how Takai’s arrival could impact Phillips.(Credit: @nicolaclairecreative_ / Instagram)Josh Keeley could challenge for Spurs goalkeeper roleAn argument could be made that if Donley is expected to fight for a place in the Tottenham first team, then his teammate, Keeley, who was also on loan at Leyton Orient, deserves a chance too.Indeed, Keeley did impress, as his heroics led Leyton Orient to a 4th round FA Cup clash against Manchester City, where the goalkeeper was a standout performer, although he still suffered defeat at the hands of the eventual finalists.Keeley was also ranked joint fourth for the most clean sheets kept in the EFL League One, after the 20-year-old managed 16 in 39 appearances. While Donley received the player of the season award, Josh Keeley was also equally impressive for Leyton Orient and was a big part of the O’s achievements last season. Of course, Kinsky and Brandon Austin are currently ahead of him on the pecking order, but the youngster could stake a claim for the second or third spot this pre-season too.Alfie Devine could push for Tottenham midfield spotDevine is another player who could push for a spot in the first team at Tottenham, although breaking in could be somewhat difficult, but not impossible. The midfielder spent last season out on loan at Westerlo, where he had his fair share of struggles, following a long-term injury that he picked up, which sidelined him for over a month. He did, however, show his quality, scoring four goals in 21 league appearances in Belgium. The 20-year-old is versatile enough to play as a centre-midfielder, an attacking midfielder and even a second striker. This means Devine will be competing with the likes of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur for a spot in the Tottenham first team. While it would be difficult to get in ahead of these stars, it is not entirely impossible, especially with Kulusevski sidelined and expected to return sometime during spring. Devine is one who caught the eye of Postecoglou, and if he can impress Thomas Frank, he could also have a shot at securing a place in the senior squad next season.READ MORE: Tottenham fans divided as club consider re-signing old player for a Champions League boostThe post Five Tottenham youngsters Thomas Frank could promote alongside Jamie Donley - Opinion appeared first on Spurs Web.
