Featuring an extensive collection of new rides and attractions and a handful of incredibly immersive new worlds to explore, it’s no wonder that Epic Universe has been the talk of the town this summer.Epic Universe is the first Universal theme park to open in Florida since Islands of Adventure opened its gates in 1999. It is also the first U.S. theme park from either Universal or Disney to open since California Adventure opened in 2001.Needless to say, Epic Universe is a huge deal, both figuratively and literally. The park has reenergized not just the Universal Orlando Resort but all theme parks, painting a bright future for the industry as a whole. However, one issue seems to affect theme parks more than any other: line cutting. Whether guests visit Disney World in Florida or Universal Studios Hollywood in California, they likely have dealt with line cutting. The same can be said about other smaller regional parks like Knott’s Berry Farm, Dollywood, and Cedar Point. Recently, this topic was brought up within the Universal Orlando community, with dozens of fans calling for change.Credit: Universal Grand Helios HotelRelated: Lightning Lane Discontinued at Disney: Fundamental Ride No Longer AvailableReddit user RedditAccount_317 shared their feelings regarding line-cutting in a recent post to the Universal Orlando page. The guest called the act” infuriating,” calling out those who “save” spots in line for others.“The amount of people I’ve seen today just walk right in front of people to meet with their friends or family, an hour into the wait is just infuriating. Just had six people meet up with a girl in front of me,” said the user. “Really wish they’d do something about people like that.”The post resonated with the rest of the community, receiving over 200 upvotes and over 100 comments.“We noticed this last year,” said one user. “We refused to let anyone pass us, unless it was obvious it was a toilet trip, etc.”“There’s a lot of entitlement out there, unfortunately,” said another.”People “saving” spots in line rides is infuriating byu/RedditAccount_317 inUniversalOrlandoRelated: Transgender Influencer Could Face Prison Over Viral Disney World Bathroom Video“I was there a couple of weeks ago and noticed this was happening a lot more than when I visited last year,” said one user.Line cutting and line saving are harsh realities of any theme park, though these practices can also be witnessed at other places, like concerts. At Universal and Disney-owned resorts, guests are discouraged from holding spaces in line and are actively warned against “cutting” in line.“I personally feel like the only time it’s acceptable is when it’s one person joining a group because they were putting stuff in lockers,” said one user. One commenter said Universal needs a direct line people can text to notify the resort of misbehavior in line. With so many people pouring into the parks each and every day, cracking down on this problem entirely is likely an impossible feat. However, Universal, like Disney, clearly states that guests must adhere to its rules.Do you agree wth the post in the story?
