Julius Mucunguzi, the EC SpokespersonThe Electoral Commission (EC) has set tomorrow, June 26, 2025, and Friday, June 27, 2025 as nomination dates for candidates who wish to contest and become members of Parish Committees for Youth, Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities under the Special Interest Group (SIG) elections.Julius Mucunguzi, the EC Spokesperson, said on Wednesday that forms can be picked up from sub-county, town councils, division headquarters and fill them before returning them between tomorrow and Friday.Mucunguzi noted that only those who were elected at the village level committees for Youth, Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities qualify to be nominated to be candidates to the next tier of parish level committees.“The village committee for the youth, for example, will constitute the electorate that will constitute the college/ electorate that will elect the committee at a parish level and similarly, the same will be for Persons with Disabilities and older persons,” said Mucunguzi.According to the EC, polling for Village Older Persons Committees was conducted on 16th June, 2025; polling for Village PwD (PwD) Committees was conducted on 17th June, 2025 and polling for Village Youth Committees was conducted on 19th June, 2025.The Commission is currently implementing the Roadmap for 2025-2026 General Elections.The post Parish Level Elections: EC Sets Thursday, Friday As Nomination Dates For Youth, Elderly & PWDs appeared first on Business Focus.
