A 24-year-old gold miner of Train Line, Port Kaituma, Region One and Albousytown, Georgetown was remanded to prison after being charged with the murder of Rayon Lall, a porter, also from Port Kaituma.Mark Junior George called ‘Killa’ appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh via Zoom at the Port Kaituma Magistrate’s Court.He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison until September 11, 2025. George had previously served a three-year sentence for a narcotics offence.Police had reported that George claimed that Lall ‘violated’ him and so he stabbed him.According to the Police report, Lall was brought to the Port Kaituma Police Station by Ewart Mingo, another porter with a stab wound to his chest.A Police rank promptly escorted Lall to the Port Kaituma Hospital for medical attention.
