Google already builds several data and privacy dashboards into Android that are also available on Samsung's Galaxy device. However, it appears that Samsung is developing its own dashboard which will be called Alerts Center and may be released with One UI 8.The Alerts Center will provide you with privacy and security alerts, helping you stay on top of app permissions and even notify you when apps begin accessing permissions a bit too frequently. Security alerts will notify about several different types of risks to ensure that your data remains protected. One UI 8 Alerts Center will make reviewing your device's security status super easyAndroid Authority found references to the Alerts Center in an internal One UI 8 build. This dashboard may be available in the Settings > Security and privacy alerts section in One UI 8. It will provide real-time alerts and suggestions to help you keep your data safe. The Alerts Center will notify you when apps access sensitive permissions like camera, microphone, location, contacts, and more, particularly in the background. You'll be reminded to review or revoke permissions if the apps are being overzealous. If “Trusted apps” need new permissions due to updates, the Alerts Center will notify you to review them before allowing access. The One UI 8 Alerts Center will also serve as a dashboard for general security alerts. This is meant to be a preventative feature, enabling you to stay on top of emerging threats, whether that's due to outdated software, malware found in apps, unsecured Google or Samsung accounts. It will even deliver reminders to enable biometric security and display Find My Mobile alerts when location tracking is turned off. It will be possible to take the relevant actions from within the alerts to quickly address any issues.Alerts Center was included in the third One UI 8 beta that Samsung released a few days ago, but it's likely that we may see it in the coming builds. Samsung is expected to release the stable One UI 8 update to eligible devices in a couple of months. The post One UI 8 Alerts Center will help greatly improve your device’s security appeared first on SamMobile.
