(Express Photo by Amit Chakravarty)The Central Railway has announced the operation of 28 special train services to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the upcoming Holi festival. These trains will run between Mumbai, Nagpur, Madgaon, Nanded, and Pune.“The special services include bi-weekly, weekly, and overnight trains covering major routes to facilitate smoother travel. These special trains will include AC and sleeper coaches to accommodate different passenger needs,” said a railway spokesperson.A bi-weekly special service will operate between the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Nagpur. Departing from the CSMT on March 9, 11, 16, and 18, the train will leave at 12.20 am and reach Nagpur at 3.10 pm the same day. The return journey from Nagpur will be on the same dates at 8 pm, arriving at the CSMT the next day at 1.30 pm.For passengers travelling to Goa, a weekly special will run between the CSMT and Madgaon on March 6 and March 13. It will depart from the CSMT at 12.20 am, reaching Madgaon at 1.30 pm. The return train will leave Madgaon at 2.15 pm and reach the CSMT at 3.45 am the next day.A weekly special will connect the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) with Madgaon, running on March 13 and March 20 from the LTT at 10.15 pm and arriving in Madgaon at 10.30 am the next day. The return service will leave Madgaon on March 14 and 21 at 2.30 pm, reaching the LTT at 4.05 am the next day.To serve Nanded-bound passengers, a train will run weekly from the LTT to Hazur Sahib Nanded on March 12 and March 19, departing at 12.55 am and reaching Nanded at 9 pm the same day. The return journey will be on the same dates, departing from Nanded at 10.30 pm and reaching the LTT at 4.05 pm the next day.Pune passengers will have two weekly special trains to Nagpur. One will depart from Pune on March 11 and March 18 at 3.50 pm and reach Nagpur at 6.30 am the next day. The return train will leave Nagpur on March 12 and March 19 at 8 am, arriving in Pune at 11.30 pm the same day.
