The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will host its Open Day on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The event is held annually near the birth anniversary of IISc’s founder, J.N. Tata (March 3), and coincides with National Science Day (February 28).The Open Day will allow the public to explore the IISc campus and learn about the scientific developments. The event will feature exhibitions, hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, lectures, and panel discussions. Highlights of the event include scientific displays across the campus, lectures on current scientific trends, panel discussions with experts, interactive quizzes and competitions and E-rickshaws available to help visitors move around the campus.Since there is construction going on in a few places, visitors with young children are advised to exercise caution. They are also urged to use the available dustbins and bring their own water bottles. Drinking water refill stations will be placed around the campus.While registration is not mandatory, it is encouraged for educational institutions and individuals to register in advance for a smoother experience.
