The Class X student had been missing since the valuables disappeared, police said.The theft came to light when the family returned to their ancestral home, where the cash and jewellery were kept.Police have also arrested five friends of the boy, all local residents, and recovered Rs 3.98 lakh in cash and some jewellery from them, an officer said.The family estimates the jewellery’s value to be several lakhs.“The exact details of the incident will be clear after questioning,” the officer added.According to police, the boy’s father said his son had fallen into bad company, prompting the family to shift to a rented house. The ancestral house was locked, and the businessman used to visit it every other day.
