While both four-seater private and commercial vehicle owners will see a Rs 10 increase, commercial and cargo vehicles will have to pay Rs 20 more. The revised rates will be applicable at all 55 toll barriers across the state. The state Excise and Taxation Department has raised the entry fee for different categories of vehicles at toll barriers for the year 2025-26.According to the revised fares, private vehicle will now have to pay Rs 70 against the previous Rs 60, heavy goods vehicles ((HGVs) Rs 570 against Rs 550), 6-12 seater passenger vehicles (Rs 110 against 90), and over 12-seaters (Rs 180 against 160).There are at least 55 entry barriers across the state, where motorists from other regions as well as HGVs are required to pay entry fee as per the Himachal Pradesh Entry Tax Rules, 2012. Of these, 15 entry barriers are in Una district, 13 (Solan), 8 (Sirmaur), and the remaining across the state. There are five key entry points to reach Shimla and Manali in Kullu district, with Parwanoo barrier on the Kalka-Shimla National Highway (NH-5) being the well-trodden path to Shimla.No exemption has been granted to goods vehicles registered in Himachal Pradesh too, a senior officer from the state Excise and Taxation Department said, adding that “quarterly and annual passes will be issued, based on entry fee for 2025–26”.HGVs over 120-250 quintals will pay Rs 570, 90-120 quintals (Rs 320 against Rs 300), 20-90 quintals (Rs 170 against Rs 150), goods vehicles below 20 quintals (Rs 130 against Rs 110), and private and public tractors (Rs 70 against Rs 50).© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Himachal Pradesh
