Tottenham first-half player ratings vs Man City – Two defenders drop 1/10 horror shows

Wait 5 sec.

The referee’s whistle has sounded for half-time as Tottenham look to defeat Manchester City for the third time this season. Let’s take a look at our Tottenham player ratings so far.Tottenham first-half player ratings v Manchester UnitedGuglielmo Vicario: Made three important saves to deny Haaland including a close-range effort on the half-hour mark. He also dived to stop an effort from Doku which he struck with good direction just outside the box. There was little he could have done about City’s goal. 7Pedro Porro: Failed to mark Erling Haaland who had a free shot on goal early on and was floored by Jeremy Doku moments later in a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge just outside his own penalty box. He then allowed Doku to send a drilled cross to Haaland which saw City score their first goal. Later he allowed Doku to play another cross which would have been a goal if Savinho knew how to shoot. 1Archie Gray: Looks composed enough at the back, but the whole team has been allowing City too much space. 4Kevin Danso: Caught ball watching for Man City’s opening goal. He’s looked a little shaky so far, although he did challenge Ederson with a strong header just before half-time. 4Destiny Udogie: The former Udinese man was the player closest to Haaland when he scored and he should have marked him more effectively. He fell over at a key moment which allowed Savinho to easily move past him. The only good thing he has done is make a run back to prevent Omar Marmoush from having a one-on-one against Vicario. 1(Credit: @reclusemedia / Instagram)Lucas Bergvall: Looked bright with his dribbling, but he was part of a midfield which went missing when City scored their first goal. 4Rodrigo Bentancur: Once Spurs supporters were singing that the Uruguayan international was the reason they’d be in the Champions League next season. These days he just looks very average. 3James Maddison: Has had to drop deep at times and has made a few tackles. He hasn’t affected the attack at all though. 4Brennan Johnson: The Welshman stole the show in the first half against Ipswich and his two goals made him Tottenham’s joint top scorer in the Premier League. Tonight, however, he has been invisible. 2Mathys Tel: It’s not easy being a centre-forward in a game like this. Tel hasn’t had many opportunities to cause City any problems. 3Wilson Odobert: You can tell Odobert has been relishing his chance to be back playing football again. He looks good on the ball and will hopefully be more involved in the second half. 5.5The post Tottenham first-half player ratings vs Man City – Two defenders drop 1/10 horror shows appeared first on Spurs Web.
