Deion Sanders Breaks Silence on Warren Sapp’s Colorado Role as Domata Peko Move Triggers Major Concerns

Wait 5 sec.

Colorado Buffs HC Deion Sanders is a man having an eye for talent. Now does it refer to only the player’s roster? Definitely not! Coach Prime curates the coaching roster with utmost precision as well. It has not been a year since Deion brought in Warren Sapp as the CU graduate assistant. However, turns out that already the Buffs HC has been truly impressed by Sapp’s tenure. After all, the grad assistant makes Deion believe that his kids are in safe hands. Now, respect always has been vice versa. However, recently, going by the hush-hush, Sapp seems to have been displaced from Deion’s list of favorites that came with the Domato Peko hire move.  Last year in April, Deion hired the Pro Football Hall of Famer Sapp. The 51-year-old already carried a strong resume as one of the top defensive tackles in the NFL. Sapp had a long run in the pro league for 13 long seasons. Back in college, he also ran for the Heisman but did not get lucky to bag the prize. But even then, he has been very dear to Coach Prime. To Deion, Sapp is his big “teddy bear.” That’s sheer love, folks! But along with this, he does respect Sapp a lot. After all, the Buffs HC had hired him to raise the bar higher for his kids- Shedeur and Shilo. Reach The People Media covered Coach Prime’s interview where he was all about Sapp.TAMPA, FLORIDA – SEPTEMBER 25: Hall of famer Warren Sapp is seen on the field prior to a game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium on September 25, 2023 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Mike Carlson/Getty Images)“Warren Sapp, one of the best pass rushes ever,” Deion sounded all passionate about his graduate assistant. Now, how did Sapp win the Hall of Famer’s heart? Turns out that the HC has absolutely no complaint about his coach. Rather, he wants his kids to look up to Sapp and try to imbibe his talents, “The way he coaches, the way he explains, the way he articulates himself, he’s looking for him. So I got to find those type coaches that I want those kids to emulate and imitate.” The fact that Sapp has demolished any wall between players and coaches and treats everyone at par is what has won Deion’s heart.  “That’s what you with with the people under you. With the people that you’re leading. The people that’s on your team and nothing shouldn’t be beneath you.” Right now, in the Boulder hood, it’s just one Hall of Famer simping on another Hall of Famer. Well, not to forget, Coach Prime is not about big words as he gifts Sapp a big raise too, shutting down the doubters.A sweet surprise for Warren Sapp after bouts of uncertaintyBack in February 18, Deion thought of bolstering his coaching roster a bit. That’s when he ended up hiring former Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Peko as their new D-line coach. The former Michigan State standout turns out to be a close competition for Sapp. He holds 15 years of NFL experience. So, it’s obvious that there would be tensions in the coaching line-up. The fans started to raise their concern in the comment section for Sapp. While they went scouting for the answer, here comes some good news! When it’s Sapp, you have no doubts about his dedication towards his role. The seven-time Pro Bowler loves every second of it. “For someone that never wanted to do this, I am really addicted to it right now. The babies are really giving me a purpose in life, and I’m enjoying it,” a CU graduate assistant said in an interview back in August. So, Deion thought of making Sapp’s Colorado stint even more special. On February 20, the Buffaloes officially promoted Warren Sapp to the role of pass rush coordinator. Now, the news sounds extra sweet when it comes from the coach himself. Sapp could not resist himself from boasting his new title, “We can announce today that I’m officially the PRC – pass rush coordinator. Reg called me this morning. I will send y’all a pic next week with my name tag on it with me standing beside it. I’m gonna go change my name tag myself.” That’s how he must be thanking the universe for not choosing his alma mater, Miami Hurricanes. The post Deion Sanders Breaks Silence on Warren Sapp’s Colorado Role as Domata Peko Move Triggers Major Concerns appeared first on EssentiallySports.
