UNION MINISTER of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary attended the Maha Kumbh Mela last week along with 2,300 people from his constituency Ajmer in Rajasthan. The minister booked a special train from Ajmer to Prayagraj for the entire group. The journey back home was planned via Ayodhya and the passengers visited the Ram Temple as well. During the three-day journey, Choudhary took care of all the provisions on the train, including food and medicines, besides ensuring medical help and security on board. The group included some BJP workers whom the minister had promised a visit to Ayodhya if they made 11 new members during the party’s membership drive last year, said an aide of Choudhary.Open DoorsLess than a year ago, the Supreme Court installed air conditioners and a glass partition in its corridors outside court halls to beat the summer heat. Now, purportedly acting on the requests of some advocates, the SC officials have removed the glass doors, five in all, of this partition wall. The glass wall had also developed some cracks following which there were demands to remove it entirely. Officials, however, did not confirm if the glass doors were removed permanently or just for the season.Film AppealAfter retiring from active politics, former Union minister and veteran parliamentarian Maneka Gandhi is doing what she does best — advocating for animal rights.
