(ANI)Minutes after the Delhi Assembly commenced its session on Day 2, Speaker Vijender Gupta Tuesday expelled 12 AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, from the House for the day for disrupting Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s address.This came after the AAP MLAs were seen raising slogans against the BJP for allegedly removing the pictures of BR Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. The House was adjourned for 30 minutes soon after.Among the other AAP leaders expelled were Gopal Rai, Veer Singh Dhingan, Mukesh Ahlawat, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed, Anil Jha, Vishesh Ravi and Jarnail Singh.Following the suspension, Atishi hit out at the BJP and said the saffron party which recently won the Delhi Assembly election had disrespected Ambedkar by removing his portrait from the chief minister’s office. “The BJP has shown its true colours by removing Babasaheb Ambedkar’s portrait. Does it believe Modi can replace Babasaheb?” she said.She also said the BJP-led administration had removed the portraits from the CM’s office in both the Delhi Secretariat and the assembly. “We will keep on protesting against it until the portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar is put in its place,” she added, speaking to reporters outside the Assembly.The suspended AAP MLAs held a protest on the assembly premises with Ambedkar portraits, raising “Babashaeb ka ye apman nahin sahega Hindustan (India will not tolerate this insult to Babasaheb)” slogans.The 14 pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports is set to be tabled in the Delhi Assembly today, days after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in the first Cabinet meeting last week, gave a nod to table them.— With PTI inputs© IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:Atishi
