23-year-old Liam Stewart from Pietà, appeared in court today facing serious drug charges after police discovered a stash of cannabis resin—allegedly stolen from the AFM barracks—in his possession.One News reported that Steward was brought before Magistrate Elaine Rizzo, where the Prosecution revealed that on 25th February, they received information indicating that the accused was holding part of the stolen drugs.Stewart was arrested at a shop in Mile End, Ħamrun and subsequent searches uncovered not only a stash of cannabis but also three packets of cocaine.It was reported that when the police tried to arrest him, Stewart reversed his car and ended up crashing into a van.Further searches at his home also turned up both cannabis and cocaine, with the cannabis matching with that reported as stolen.In addition to these findings, Stewart faces multiple charges: he is accused of possessing drugs not solely for personal use, attempting to sell the stolen cannabis, trying to sell cocaine less than a metre from a school, driving without a valid licence, and damaging another vehicle.•
