Making a call to government employees to take a healthy approach towards entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the local bodies across the State and various government departments, including the revenue department, have made positive interventions in improving the investment climate in Kerala.He also credited the government employees for the growth in own revenue, which has helped the State tide over an economic crisis despite the denial of funds by the Union government. Mr. Vijayan was speaking after inaugurating the Revenue Day celebrations here on Monday (February 25).“Majority of the government servants are carrying out their responsibilities without any blemishes on their part. Their interventions have played a key role in the change that is being witnessed in the State. Even if it is the government which takes policy decisions, these are implemented through government servants. Only a small section indulges in corrupt activities. Kerala is now the State with the least corruption, but we should aspire towards becoming a corruption-free State,” he said.Speedy service deliveryMr. Vijayan said that the government has been making interventions to ensure speedy delivery of services to people. Over 900 government services are now accessible online. A total of 515 village offices have now become smart offices, with 222 to be converted in the next financial year. Several people-friendly law amendments have also been made. Since 2016, the government has distributed over 3.6 lakh title deeds, he said.The digital resurvey is progressing efficiently with 6 lakh hectares of land surveyed in the first two years.
