The Humanitarian Coordination PoolThe Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Humanitarian Coordination Pool (HC Pool) is a roster of pre-identified and pre-vetted high-calibre humanitarian professionals from the UN, the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement, NGOs, and other organisations, who are qualified for humanitarian coordination leadership positions.PurposeThe purpose of the HC Pool is to deepen the pool of candidates identified for wider humanitarian coordination leadership positions, including Humanitarian Coordinator (HC), Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator (DHC), Regional Humanitarian Coordinator (RHC) and Deputy Regional Humanitarian Coordinator (DRHC) positions.The HC Pool also aims to provide the IASC with the opportunity to pre-assess the suitability of candidates for humanitarian coordination leadership positions based on experience, skills, competencies, and motivational drivers ahead of humanitarian emergencies.The HC Pool enables the Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) and the IASC partners to access and identify suitable candidates who are ready for immediate leadership assignments, including in the context of IASC scale-up emergencies to meet the urgent leadership needs on the ground.We seek exceptional, brilliant, and driven women and men, ready to take the lead in coordinating and managing humanitarian crises with the full support of the humanitarian community.Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for the HC Pool, and their applications will be given special consideration.
