The Florida Panthers star forward, Matthew Tkachuk, roared, “It’s our time” during the 4 Nations Face-Off but, sadly, it hasn’t been his time of late. Speculations about his injury and his fate for the rest of the season have been ripe since he got banged up in the rather eventful round-robin game against Canada. But thanks to a recent update by the Florida Panthers coach, there is some more clarity. On February 24, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman hopped on to X to break the news. He wrote, “On the @JoeRoseShow this morning, FLA coach Paul Maurice said Matthew Tkachuk’s injury (believed to be a groin) could be a bit longer term.” Ouch. That is a bummer. That being said, Florida Panthers fans don’t need to give up all their hopes yet. “But he’s playing for us this year,” added the Panthers coach. A day ago Maurice’s stance was different when he said, “I don’t know that anything changed in that game from the game prior in terms of his injury. He’ll get back in here today, we’ll look at him over today and tomorrow. I’ll probably have a better handle on (the injury) tomorrow but not a final one,” while giving an update on Matthew Tkachuk’s groin injury ahead of the Panthers vs Kraken game.On the @JoeRoseShow this morning, FLA coach Paul Maurice said Matthew Tkachuk’s injury (believed to be a groin) could be a bit longer term, “But he’s playing for us this year.”— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) February 24, 2025Stay tuned, this is a developing story! The post Florida Panthers Coach Clears Air on Matthew Tkachuk’s Doubtful NHL Return appeared first on EssentiallySports.
