In November 2024, Bangladesh experienced various hazards that significantly impacted lives and livelihoods, including fire incidents, lightning, wild animal attack, boat capsize, dengue, and COVID-19. Dengue remained the most widespread health hazard, with 30,052 cases and 194 deaths, predominantly in Dhaka (11,936 cases, 113 deaths), followed by Khulna (1,611 cases, 6 deaths) and Chottogram (3,427 cases, 18 deaths). Fire incidents were notably prevalent, resulting in seven deaths and 32 injuries across the country. The most severe impacts were observed in Mymensingh with four deaths and five injuries, Sylhet with 7 injuries, and Dhaka where two people died and seven were injured. Other affected areas included Gazipur with four injuries and Chottogram, where fires damaged six houses. Additionally, a lightning strike in Noakhali on November 5, resulted in one death, underscoring coastal safety concerns for fishing communities. Animal attack in Cox’s Bazar and Dhaka injured five people, disrupting agricultural and urban areas, whereas a boat capsizes in Koyra, Khulna, on November 25 left one person missing, impacting local riverine transportation. Meanwhile, COVID-19 cases slightly decreased compared to October, with 39 confirmed cases in Dhaka and no fatalities, alongside 40 recoveries. By the end of November, Bangladesh's total COVID-19 cases reached 2,051,511, with 29,499 deaths and 2,019,203 recoveries.
