The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) proposed to revise the curriculum for undergraduate programmes in the disciplines of Business, Commerce, Law, and Management.The exercise is to modernise and align the curriculum to equip students with the skills and competencies required to meet contemporary and futuristic industry demands. According to the committee evaluating the existing curricula and areas of improvement, chaired by Chairman V. Balakista Reddy, the key recommendations now are to align undergraduate and postgraduate programmes syllabi to address overlap and smoothen learning progression.The committee in a dozen recommendations also emphasised to bridge the gap between distance and online learning, flexible entry and exit academic programmes and facilitating lateral entry, integration of technology and skill-based modules, retaining language courses throughout the three-year undergraduate programmes, and develop indigenous programmes on the lines National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning.The other recommendations include industry and start-up collaborations, mandatory mentoring and counselling, use of technology for inclusive education, faculty development through workshops, and collaboration between conventional and engineering colleges.Published - February 25, 2025 08:58 pm IST
