Triple H loves this business. I’ve known him for a long time. We’ve done a lot of fun stuff together, a lot of crazy stuff. He’s doing a great job. I talk with him often. We’re very close. The Rock opened up on his relationship with Triple H after returning to SmackDownYouTube: WWE“What I like about Triple H is that he’ll present me with something, I’ll like it, then we’ll chop it up, we’ll talk about it, and I’ll present him something else.“It’s always been this way with Paul. Even back when we were wrestling every night together on the road, it was, ‘Hey, let’s do something that’s never been done. Let’s do something that is unpredictable. Let’s do something that is bold.’“Regarding tonight with the Final Boss and coming to Cody Rhodes… It was audacious, bold and disruptive.“I could tell Paul and he’ll say, ‘Yeah, great, let’s go for it.’ I love that about him. That’s the bond that we have.”Both The Rock and Triple H have been in the wrestling business for decades now, and while their friendship and bond has grown to a good place, they have previously admitted it wasn’t all plain sailing. The pair engaged in a heated on-screen rivalry in the late 1990s and early 2000s, which is said to have stemmed from Triple H’s ‘jealousy’ of The Rock. The Rock and Triple H had a heated rivalry in the early 2000sWWE“There was always competition between the two,” Bruce Prichard, a longtime WWE producer, said in the season three premiere of A&E’s WWE Rivals last February.“There’s a reason you believed these two guys didn’t like each other: They didn’t.”In November 1998, The Rock won the first of his 10 world championships, something Triple H admitted to being jealous of.“It was a big deal at the time,” he said on WWE Rivals. “Titles didn’t change hands as often, and I can remember being jealous of that.”Despite clashing with The Rock, Triple H also admitted he knew Johnson would go far in the business from the first day they met,“The first time I ever saw him, I’m just thinking, this guy’s going to be a star,” he said.“He just had a look.”
