Geoffrey Lutaaya, a founding member and former director of Eagles Production, has opened up about the reasons behind the group’s split after 18 years of success in Uganda’s music industry.Lutaaya explained that when they first started the group, they were young, ambitious, and had little to lose. This allowed them to fully dedicate themselves to the music and the values that held the group together. However, as time went on, responsibilities grew, and their priorities began to shift. We had really outgrown it. We started the group before any of us became parents, and we were living our lives without any major responsibilities. Anytime anyone needed us, we were always available because we had nothing to lose. But as our kids grew up, we took on more responsibilities, and it became difficult to remain fully committed to the group. Naava Grey and Geoffrey Lutaaya deliver unforgettable Valentine’s Day concerts in KampalaHe says that while they had internal challenges like any large group, their separation was inevitable.Imagine one of us staged a successful concert, and we all had to share the small money. It was enough in the early days, but as we grew and took on more responsibilities, it became little. Every member had become big in their own right, and it made more sense to pursue solo careers.
