The second edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival that is scheduled from March 21 to 23 in Mumbai will showcase Oscar-nominated movies such as Emilia Perez, The Girl with the Needle, and Anora as well as acclaimed movies such as I am Nevenka, The Outrun, Misericordia and Universal Language.The festival will also host masterclasses and fireside chats featuring prominent film personalities such as Siddharth Roy Kapur, Guneet Monga, Alok Tandon, Akarsh Khurana, Sooni Taraporevala, Anjum Rajabali and Kausar Munir.Around 120 films will be screened at Maison PVR and Maison Inox in four curated categories – In Focus, Spotlight, Rendezvous with French Cinema, and Hola Spain. The fascinating line-up in different genres has movies such as Hollywoodgate, When The Light Breaks, the documentary 999: The Forgotten Girls, and psychological horror Mom. Still from the movie Anora.The In Focus category features thought-provoking stories such as Winter in Sochko – a film set in a remote Arctic town; Midas Man, which explores the life of music impresario Brian Epstein and the rise of The Beatles; Cold Wallet, an edge-of-your-seat thriller; Sew Torn, a thriller set around a drug deal gone bad; and A World Apart, a poignant exploration of human connections across different cultures.Bold narratives such as the Canadian absurdist comedy-drama Universal Language; Sundance-winner Emanuelle; The Outrun, an adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s bestselling memoir; and The Last Showgirl, a tribute to the legacy of performers in London’s West End, will also be showcased under this section.
