Part of the Regional Humanitarian Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean (RHPF LAC), the country envelope, known as the Humanitarian Fund in Colombia, addresses the humanitarian situation by providing life-saving assistance, with a secondary focus on localization which, in the context of Colombia, is connected to the Flagship Initiative. This initiative aims to transform humanitarian action by placing affected populations at the center of actions, adjusting responses according to their priorities, and strengthening the capacities of local actors. The fund’s advisory board includes representatives from local and national NGOs, international organizations, the UN, and donors.The fund was launched in 2024 with the objective of “Providing humanitarian and protection assistance, including rapid response and community protection mechanisms.” The geographic focus are the areas which are most affected by armed conflict and internal displacement with limited state and humanitarian presence.The allocation has three specific programmatic pillars:1: Local and decentralized rapid response mechanisms.2: Community protection and prevention mechanisms (self-protection)3: Strengthening community resilience through enhancement of local capacities and durable solutions
