Someone I know (In US) does international pet sitting/housesitting as a side gig. She works remotely for her regular job, and pays for her own plane ticks to go pet sitting all over Europe. She gets free room and sometimes board, and works a couple hours a day taking care of animals, does her day job on her laptop and then has time to go sight seeing. To hear her talk about it, it’s a wonderful opportunity and she’s thankful she gets to do it. She just did a month long stint on a farm in Ireland taking care of livestock and getting to travel around Ireland on weekends when she didn’t have to do her day job. If I was younger and didn’t have kids, it’s totally something I’d love to do.
