Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam conducted ‘Saraswati Yagam’ on the occasion of Moola Nakshatra, the birth star of Goddess Saraswati, on Sunday.The Saraswati Yagam was performed according to Vedic rituals at the temple’s Yagashala amidst the sacred chanting of mantras by Vedic scholars and the accompaniment of traditional music, led by the temple priests. The devotees participated in the rituals, seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, so that the entire State may flourish with learning and wisdom.The temple priests also performed Suryopasana atop Indrakeeladri, the abode of Goddess Kanaka Durga. On the occasion of Magha Adivaram (Sunday of Telugu month Magha maasam), the prayer was performed with Vedic chants and sacred rituals by the temple priests in the Maha Mandapam on the seventh floor of the temple.The sun worship ceremony will be conducted again on February 24, and 26.
