Miami Insider Confirms Major Carson Beck Injury Update as 215lb Dark Horse Steals $10M QB’s Spotlight

Wait 5 sec.

Georgia Bulldogs went into their championship game in high spirits. They were just coming off beating a resilient Georgia Tech in overtime and were slated to face Texas Longhorns in the championship game. However, what they didn’t know at the time was that that would be the last game Beck would enter the field in red and black. They won that game but lost their QB and also their hopes to win the natty. Cut short to one month after that, and Beck was in Miami attending his girlfriend’s basketball games and earning a $10 million NIL deal. Bulldogs had lost their gem of a QB, and Miami had rekindled their hope to achieve glory with Beck at the helm. However, in that excitement, questions still loom at large for Mario Cristobal and Miami. When is their ace QB getting back to playing? And will he be at his best after coming from an injury? D Money, a Canes’ insider, was recently asked the same thing by Alex Donno in an episode of ‘Locked on Canes.’“He can’t throw until June, I believe June-July at the latest. We’re looking at for him to throw, but then again, these timelines are kind of tricky. I know you covered the Mark Fletcher (saying to his host Alex Donno) thing last year. There were a lot of different reports on when he’d be healthy, and he ended up being perfectly fine, and he scored two touchdowns in the opening game… So hard to really know, but I think everybody expects him to be full go for the fall camp and more likely than not to be sidelined for the entirety of spring.” So, that essentially means that we will see Beck more likely in the fall camp only. But there’s a catch too.As D Money pointed out earlier, Mark Fletcher’s fitness reports were vaguely inaccurate when he suffered an injury in the 2023 Pinstripe Bowl game. His return was as impressive as a player coming off an injury can get. He had a fantastic game against Florida and also rushed for 71 yards, scoring 2 TDs. But that inaccuracy was more or less attributed to Mario Cristobal, and here’s why.Lately, Cristobal has garnered a reputation for providing inaccurate injury status reports that may not be his own fault. Alex Donno added an interesting take on the subject. “During Cristobal’s tenure, it’s like a running joke with the fans that if he says someone’s recovering ahead of schedule, a lot of times they don’t believe him, but he has been right on at least a couple of occasions.” Alex Donno also provided the reasoning why Cristobal has the type of reputation for being inaccurate on injury updates.Carson Beck has a competition at Miami?Mario Cristobal may have good news in his bag on Carson Beck’s injury, as Alex Donno speculated on the issue. “He (Mario Cristobal) mentioned Mark Fletcher like Fletcher’s going to be good to go; they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, okay, sure, we’ll see him in like 2027.’ But no, he recovered ahead of schedule; I think Emory Williams was another one who last year, coming off the broken arm, recovered ahead of schedule, so sometimes these things do happen quicker than you think.” The statement points to only one thing: there are possibilities that Carson Beck may recover faster than speculated. In that sense, we can see him even in the spring practice games this year. Moving on, D Money also provided the name of another prospect who can potentially be much better than Carson Beck.He was talking about a 4-star QB prospect in Luke Nickel, who is in Miami’s 2025 class. In that way, he certainly has the pedigree to challenge Beck. And before that statement sounds too ambitious, D Money also provided a similar insight. “Luke Nickel, when he’s playing in games, I know it’s a long way away, but so far, so good with him, and you know, my personal view based on having watched him in high school is that I think he will end up being the backup to Carson Beck just because he has good size. he’s not huge, but he’s, you know, 6 foot 1 and strong, well over 200 pounds. He can take contact, he can move a little bit, he’s very functionally athletic.” Surely Luke Nickel will play a crucial role in Miami moving forward and will have the potential to be the number 1 QB in the future at Miami. The post Miami Insider Confirms Major Carson Beck Injury Update as 215lb Dark Horse Steals $10M QB’s Spotlight appeared first on EssentiallySports.
