Coal India Ltd. on Thursday said that from May 1 it will levy an additional charge of Rs 300 per tonne across all mines of its wholly owned subsidiary Northern Coalfields Ltd.The "Singrauli Punarasthapan Charge" of Rs 300 per tonne is over and above the notified price of coal and shall be levied uniformly across all mines of NCL on and from 1st May 2025, according to the company's exchange filing.The disclosure added that the company expects to rake in additional revenue of around Rs 3,877.50 crore due to the development.For the third quarter ending December 2024, the company had reported a consolidated profit of Rs 8,506 crore, compared to Rs 10,253 crore in the same period last year.Revenue from operations for the quarter under review slipped marginally to Rs 35,779.74 crore. In Q3 FY24, the company had earned Rs 36,154 crore.On the operating side, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation declined 5% year-on-year to Rs 12,317 crore but were higher than the forecast of Rs 11,407.8 crore.
