Dwyane Wade’s Gen-Z Daughter, Zaya “Nerds Out” to Cope With Life’s Pressures

Wait 5 sec.

Dwyane Wade‘s Genz daughter knows the right balance between modeling, education, and inspiring kids who are the same age as her. This year is extra special considering she is looking for the right college for her. Being the daughter of the 3x NBA champ Dwyane Wade, there’s also a lot of expectations on her. And she is handling it all well. But when the going gets a bit tough or stressed, she needs something different such as friends, some TV series and so much more.In her recent interview with Seventeen, Zaya shared that during tough or stressful days, she likes to have heart-to-heart FaceTime with her four close friends, binge binge-watch her favorite shows to unwind. The 17-year-old mentioned that she isn’t much of a text person. Instead, she prefers calling her friends. Whether it’s an inspirational TED Talk or discussions about favorite shows and movies, this is what boosts her day. “Me and my friend Zoe FaceTime a lot. We hyperfixate on incredibly niche things. She once spent three hours explaining the entire Power Rangers timeline to me,” Zaya said in her interview. SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS – AUGUST 12: Zaya Wade, Kaavia James Wade, 2023 inductee Dwyane Wade and Zaire Wade attend the 2023 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Induction at Symphony Hall on August 12, 2023 in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was basically a TED Talk,” she said. Greek Mythology is more like a childhood fascination for the 17-year-old. And now, her interests have shifted to science. She wants to become a scientist. She also loves science fiction movies, like Avatar and Interstellar and more. And maybe the best of all this is to have a cool dad like DWade. Dwyane Wade and Zaya Wade enjoyed watching HeartstopperWade might have disappointed his daughter by intimidating her partners at first, but like Zaya says, the big man is just a teddy bear. “Although, my dad…he tries to scare any person I have interest in. He’s kind of intimidating,” Wade said. “The people I’ve dated have all been afraid of him in the first interaction. He’s gigantic and he has this deep, booming voice. But the facade only lasts for so long and you actually see his real personality. He’s a teddy bear,” she added. While there are several parents struggling to get along with their children, there is the Miami Heat legend Wade, who knows just the right way to do it. It was the basketball legend himself who urged Zaya to watch the hit series Heartstopper together. She says that she got a text from her father who wished to see a movie together. “My dad and I watch Heartstopper together…He set up candy and popcorn. I was scared because you know when your parents ask you to watch something, you’re like, “Ah, here we go,” Zaya confessed her hesitation. Not just her friends, Zaya also has her father, who supports her. And while the pressures of teenage life can be overwhelming, having the right support makes all the difference. Zaya knows this well! The post Dwyane Wade’s Gen-Z Daughter, Zaya “Nerds Out” to Cope With Life’s Pressures appeared first on EssentiallySports.
