The 4 Nations Face-Off may be over, but the aftereffects linger. And in this case, not in a good way. That’s right, we’re talking about injuries. The tournament unfortunately saw several players like Charlie McAvoy and Shea Theodore sustain injuries. As well as… Brady Tkachuk. While Tkachuk’s injury isn’t a long-term concern, it’s still never fun for a player to miss out on games.Tkachuk suffered a lower-body injury while playing in the third game of the tournament between the United States and Sweden. Already having missed the Ottawa Senators’ first NHL game after the tournament against the Montreal Canadiens, it looks like Tkachuk still isn’t a 100% match fit just yet. As reported by Claire Hanna of TSN, “Brady Tkachuk, Josh Norris and Shane Pinto will be out of the lineup vs Winnipeg. #Sens”Brady Tkachuk, Josh Norris and Shane Pinto will be out of the lineup vs Winnipeg. #Sens— Claire Hanna (@clahanna) February 26, 2025Tkachuk was seen during one line rush at the Senators’ optional practice session on Tuesday, though he exited early. Updating fans on his health, he spoke to the media, saying, “I’m feeling alright. I think it was just a smart decision to sit out Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. I didn’t feel like I had the pop, and I started to feel it a little bit.He continued, “I’m still hopeful to play tomorrow, but I just need to make a smart decision. I definitely don’t want to re-aggravate it and miss any more time. I’m just going to continue to do everything in my power to play tomorrow, and we’ll see how it goes the rest of the day today and tomorrow.”For Senators’ fans, it must come as a huge relief that Tkachuk’s injury isn’t too serious and that he can be on the ice at all. But Brady Tkachuk is not the only Senators player to be sidelined with injury.Brady Tkachuk isn’t the only player the Senators are withoutThe Ottawa Senators are in a bit of a mini injury crisis. Besides their captain, the Sens are missing out on two other important players. First on the list is Josh Norris. The defenseman has missed a total of five games since sustaining an upper-body injury on February 3rd.The second player is Shane Pinto. The Senators center missed out on three games after suffering an upper-body injury on February 4 during the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. However, just like Tkachuk, Norris and Pinto took to the ice during the optional training skate, suggesting they could be back in the team sooner than later. However, it’s guaranteed that neither player will be able to make their return during the Senators’ upcoming game against the Winnipeg Jets. And unfortunately, it is not the game to miss, as the Senators will have to dig deep to secure victory against the Jets, who are the current league leaders in points. But the Senators have made preparations. Coming in to deputize, Angus Crookshank and Jan Jenik have been recalled from the Sens’ AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators. But the good news is that this doesn’t look to be a long-term roster change, though the extra help they provide will be needed against the Jets. After all, the Senators are not too far from a wild card spot, and they need to do whatever they can to prevent injuries from derailing their season entirely. The post Sad News for Brady Tkachuk and Ottawa Senators Ahead of Clash With Winnipeg Jets appeared first on EssentiallySports.
