Doha, Qatar – February 24, 2025Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Under the agreement, Qatar Charity will provide financial support to the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and the Country-Based Pooled Funds (CBPFs) over the period from 2025 to 2027.The agreement was signed by Mr. Yousuf Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and Mr. Tom Fletcher, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.This strategic initiative aims to enhance global humanitarian response efforts, ensuring timely and effective aid to communities in crisis. Through this agreement, Qatar Charity and OCHA reaffirm their shared commitment to providing rapid and coordinated humanitarian assistance to those in need.Under the agreement, OCHA, which is mandated to coordinate an international humanitarian response, will utilize this financial support to provide life-saving assistance to vulnerable populations through its network of local, national, and international NGOs, and UN agencies.Mr. Yousuf Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, emphasized that this agreement strengthens Qatar Charity's ongoing strategic partnership with OCHA. He highlighted the importance of reinforcing joint efforts to address urgent humanitarian needs.
