Matthew and Brady Tkachuk have become heroes, and no one can deny the fact that such popularity helps the sport to grow and reach more people. The recent 4 nations face-off was a bang-on event, and the Tkachuk brothers just nailed it with spontaneous plays, fiery talks, and trending fights. And no wonder the NFL world has recognized the Tkachuk brothers’ success in the NHL world. Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk recently appeared on the New Heights podcast of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce and discussed so many interesting things. One of the interesting conversations in the New Heights podcast was about Keith Tkachuk, the father of the Tkachuk brothers. The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, asked them about their dad’s penalty minutes in the league. Football star Kelce asked that through 400 games, Brady Tkachuk has 588 penalty minutes and Matthew at 395, but they laughed at what Keith Tkachuk holds in penalty minutes, which is more than 1000. And Brady Tkachuk, dropped a bomb saying, “I mean, he’s got 2,000 I think in total. I don’t… I mean it gets to a thousand a win, but 2000 is a tough one to beat,” when host, Travis Kelce, asked about will they both ever be able to catch their dad in penalty minutes. Keith Tkachuk has a total of 2,219 penalty minutes throughout his career. In comparison to that, Matthew Tkachuk has 690, and Brady has a total of 728 penalty minutes. Looks like Brady can catch his father in penalty minutes, huh? Actually, Matthew dropped a really good stat about his dad after Brady’s insane claim. Injured Matthew Tkachuk said, “I think my dad’s most impressive stat is he scored 50 goals, which is insane.” Matthew continued, “He scored it twice in a season, but one of the years he had 200 penalty minutes with it. So, it’s like, ‘damn dad, like you put that number at 100 like you might have scored 60’.” In his illustrious 20-season NHL career, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk’s father has scored a total of 538 goals and 527 assists. Well, Brady Tkachuk is far from the penalty minutes of his dad, but he is not an inch less in hockey fights, right? The 4-nations face-off saw how fired up Team USA was. Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, 4-nations face-off fights, and proud dadMatthew and Brady Tkachuk put the 4 nations face-off on a different level. The initial fights in Canada vs USA and registering a victory was hyped by hockey fans. Plus, the political tension was also mounting and added fuel to players’ minds. Maybe that’s why Brady Tkachuk said to the Canadian team, “It’s our time”, ahead of the 4 nations face-off finals. And talking about the fights in the 4 nations face-off, the Tkachuk brothers have already said that their father was so proud after watching the fights. Though Team USA lost the game in overtime (3-2), the sport of ice hockey won in the USA. The excitement for the 4 nations face-off was unbelievable, and it also dragged first-timers to watch the historic Canada vs USA game. Matthew Tkachuk is currently suffering from a groin injury during the 4-nations event. However, his appearance in the Stanley Cup playoffs is expected. But man, to talk about the legacy Matthew and Brady Tkachuk maintained of their dad is incredible and out of this world. Though people are spreading hatred about them, the popularity and beauty of the sport are definitely increasing with the Tkachuk brothers’ presence.
