Taking exception to the Karnataka Lokayukta giving clean chit to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family in the MUDA scam, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Pralhad joshi said that party leaders would meet soon to chalk out the next course of legal action on the issue.Speaking to presspersons in Hubballi on Friday, Mr. Joshi said that BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra and Leaders of the Opposition R. Ashok and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy would meet to hold preliminary discussion on the next course of agitation and if required, senior leaders would lead a united fight.“It is no secret that the Congress is the father of corruption. U.S. President Donald Trump too has spoken about corruption during the Congress regime. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had met the Chinese ambassador. The Congress has joined hands with enemy nations to destabilise the roots of democracy in the country and so the Congress leaders have no moral right to speak on democracy,” he said.Regarding the tussle between Mr. Vijayendra and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Mr. Joshi said that BJP’s national president would decide on it.To a query, he said he was not aware of former Minister Janardhan Reddy aspiring to become the party’s State president and said that after the appointment of the State president, the core committee meeting would be held. Mr. Joshi termed Labour Minister Santosh Lad’s remarks about BJP leaders wanting Nitin Gadkari to become the Prime Minister as ‘childish’. “Mr. Lad is a mature politician. I did not expect such statement from him” he said, adding that because of such immature remarks the Congress had earned zero seats in the Delhi election.Published - February 21, 2025 10:25 pm IST
