What are the allegations against Ali Abbasi?According to a recent report from Deadline, Abbasi was at a Golden Globes afterparty held by CAA when an inebriated Abbasi “aggressively groped an A-list, CAA-repped actor.” It’s unclear exactly what happened, but Deadline’s report notes that the agency demanded an apology be made, and in the fallout, they eventually parted ways with the director.Deadline’s report mentions that it’s not clear whether or not the director was explicitly forced out of the agency or not, but as of now, Abbasi is solely repped by UK-based group LARK. The report also mentions that Abbasi is no longer working with PR firm The Lede Company, although that may be more due to his contract ending after The Apprentice came out.Abbasi has not offered up any comment or statement on the issue, nor has he responded to any comment on the reported event that took place. However, he did confirm to Deadline that he decided to “move in a new direction” with his career, and thanked CAA and Entertainment 360 for the work they’ve done together.“I can confirm that I’ve made the decision to move in a new direction with my career,” said Abbasi. “I’m grateful for the work CAA and Entertainment 360 have done, particularly their commitment to The Apprentice, which remains a project I’m incredibly proud of. I look forward to announcing my next steps at the appropriate time.”(Source: Deadline) The post The Apprentice Director Faces Groping Allegations, Dropped by CAA appeared first on ComingSoon.net - Movie Trailers, TV & Streaming News, and More.
