(Express Photo)A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) doctor has approached the state women commission alleging harassment at the workplace by a local BJP member. She approached the women commission as she was not satisfied with the response from PMC’s health department and the internal inquiry committee on her complaint.The doctor was allegedly abused by the BJP member recently.Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram said, “I have been informed about the matter. I will personally inquire into the matter and take necessary action.”“The incident is serious and raises security and safety concerns of women employees,” a member of the internal inquiry committee said. The accused who allegedly abused and levelled corruption charges against the woman employee should have approached the municipal commissioner or civic health chief to complain against the woman employee, the member said. “The woman employee is very scared as the accused is a BJP worker. He has allegedly threatened to transfer her,” she said.City BJP chief Dheeraj Ghate said, “I have sought an explanation from the accused. He denied the allegations leveled against him but we will also talk to other civic officials.
