Thursday (June 5) marked the conclusion of a two-day football coaching and child safeguarding workshop for teachers and school football coaches from across the country, compliments of the Petra Organisation.The Organisation teamed up with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, with sessions facilitated by Senior Child Protection Officer Orette Francois and former Golden Jaguars Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz.Former Golden Jaguars Head Coach Jamaal Shbazz addressing the participantsThe over 20 participants expressed immense satisfaction with the information received, knowledge gained and the practical football tactics and formations shared throughout the sessions.The workshop aimed to not only develop coaching skills, but also emphasise the importance of child safeguarding in sport.Recommendations were made for further improvement and continuation of such initiatives.
