Kai Po Che (2013) served as the breakout debut for Amit Sadh, Rajkummar Rao and late Sushant Singh Rajput. While the film was a commercial and critical success, it did not translate into great film offers for Sadh. In a recent exclusive interview with SCREEN, the actor opened up about getting less film offers than expected.During the conversation, Amit Sadh reflected on the kind of opportunities he got after the release of Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che in 2013. He shared, “I got a lot of attention. If I make you a graph, I see a huge spike. There was a spike of attention all of a sudden, then nothing. It was tough.”Headded, “There was nothing for a few months. Then my whole thing is, if I don’t get work, I pick up my bag and go to the forest. Kaam nahi hai, koi baat nahi, Kai Po Che toh agayi hai. And, I don’t like complaining, but the fact of the matter is – I don’t get so many choices, contrary to what people think.”“I get a few choices and in that I’ve to pick the best, because I just can’t stay home, because I have to take care of my life, family, and my dogs. So, I just pick the best. Luck has been fortunate that every now and then I do get a good film to be a part of,” he concluded.On the professional front, Amit Sadh was last seen in Pune Highway, alongside Jim Sarbh and Manjari Fadnnis. The film hit theatres on May 29 and will soon release on an OTT platform.
