Michigan lands four star cornerback Dorian Barney

Caden Handwork•After weeks of anticipation, Michigan football has landed four-star cornerback Dorian Barney for the 2026 season. Michigan has been favored to land Barney for multiple weeks, and today he announced his intentions to commit to the Wolverines.Barney committed to Michigan over offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, USC, and Miami.A key factor that played into Barney’s decision to come to Michigan included the football program’s history of developing players, which he learned about when he first visited Ann Arbor. Since the first official visit, Barney has been back several times, including for Victors Weekend, which contributed to his decision to commit to the Wolverines.The 6-foot-0, 170-pound cornerback will be entering his senior year at Carrollton High School in Georgia. Barney helped lead the Carrollton Trojans to a 14-1 record last season, with their one loss coming to the Grayson High School Rams in the GHSA State Championship game.Barney joins four-star Andre Clarke as cornerbacks who have committed to Michigan’s 2026 recruiting class.  Barney is making some hefty promises to Wolverine Nation that he hopes to accomplish in his career at Michigan.
